The Last Kumite has already started streaming in Germany. It should start streaming on Amazon Prime in the USA in May, 2024. I don't yet know about other territories, but it should be coming soon. My soundtrack will be available in digital form (for purchase or streaming) on May 16th, 2024. Check your usual sources. I have arranged with Perseverance Records for physical cd's to be released, probably in July, 2024. The fans in Germany are already raving. I'm truly excited to be back to scoring films!
I have recently finished scoring a new film, my first since Breathing Fire back in 1990. It's called The Last Kumite and features some well-known martial arts actors from the 80s and 90s, such as Billy Blanks, Kurt McKinney, Michel Qissi, Matthias Hues, and Cynthia Rothrock. The main character is played by Mathis Landwehr, a guy whose daughter is kidnapped to force him to fight in an illegal Kumite. Adding to my score, Stan Bush has contributed two songs, so Stan and I are back together in a bit of a nostalgic nod to Bloodsport and Kickboxer. The film is due in the spring of 2024. Despite my long absence from film scoring, I think I still have the knack.
